He was disowned by the Quaker Church in 1844 in the Center M.M. in Clinton Co., OH for joining the "Separtists". His wife, Martha Painter was disowned by the Quaker church in 1845 when she married him, now a non-Quaker. He signed his name as L.M. Coate in an 1851 Mote marriage in New Hope MM, Greene Co., Ohio (Coate Archives) 1 Lindley married Martha PAINTER in 9/1845 in , Clinton, OH, USA.1 (Martha PAINTER died after 1839.) |
