He joined the German Merchant Marines as a young man. When it docked in Philadelphia, he visited his Aunt Regina and never returned to the ship. He stayed with his Aunt and got a job in Philadelphia as a painter. He was also in an orchestra as a violinist. According to the 1930 census for Philadelphia, Julius entered the U.S. in 1906. Julius ended up marrying his 1st cousin, Katherine.

Julius married Katherine PRINGLE on 23 Aug 1916 in , , MD, USA. Katherine (daughter of William PRINGLE and Regina LINK) was born about 1890 in , Augusta, VA; died after 1930 in Of Philadelphia, , PA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

He was a postal inspector for the city of Bamberg, Bavaria. He is possibly the Vincenz Link who was born in 1865 and emmigrated to St. Louis, Missouri from Bavaria via Hamburg, Germany in the New York Passenger lists. He lists his place of origin as Schneckby and his trade as shoemaker. He is living in St. Louis from the 1900 census through the 1930 census. In 1900, he was a laborer. In the 1910 and 1920 census, he was employed in a Shoe factory and at age 65 in the 1930 census, he was no longer employed. He and his wife had a large family. The two children's names that seem to be from the family were sons named Leo and Joseph.

Vincenz married Anna Cunigunda SPONSEL on 7 Jul 1888 in Bamberg, , Bavaria. Anna was born on 30 Dec 1861 in Hallfeld, , , Bavaria; died in 1917. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

There is a William Pringle who was divorced and living by himself in a rented property in Cambria Co., PA in the 1920 census and living with his son-in-law, J. Earle Pringle's family in the 1930 census. He was a physician.

William married Regina LINK before 1892. Regina (daughter of Leander LINK and Susanna GEISLER) was born in Aug 1868 in , , , Germany; died after 1930 in Of Philadelphia, , PA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

According to a likely cousin of my children, Regina married a William Pringle whom she divorced in 1892 before remarrying. According to her possible nephew, Vincenz's descendants, Regina and Catherine went back to Germany for a period of 3 years probably around the time of her divorce. According to her 1920 census, her second husband's name was Leo McDevitt. She emmigrated to this country from Germany in 1880 and was a naturalized citizen. The 1930 census says she emmigrated in 1888 instead.

Leander married Susanna GEISLER. Susanna was born in 1819 in , , , Germany; died in 1898. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
