Notes: He was listed as a clerk when he married. The 1930 census stated that his father was born in Scotland. This is a misinterpretation of the truth. His father was born in Canada. He and his wife had wanted to name their last child, if he was a boy, Stewart. This was because his family was supposedly part of the Stewart clan from Scotland. The Barr surname, however, is French according to his daughter, Virginia and spelled Barre'. He was a shipping clerk for an advertising company according to the 1940 census. He and his wife Josephine had one son named Robert. He might be the son known to Virginia Barr Hofstetter as Robin. She did not mention having a brother named Robert. The Ohio death records stated he was the Robert W. Barr who died unexpectedly in Maple Heights, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio on May 1, 1961. This was five days before his daughter, Virginia's wedding that was naturally postponed by the event. She and her father had just rehearsed walking down the isle in Bedford, Cuyahoga Co., Ohio when he went out to mow the lawn. He had a heart attack. Robert married Mary Josephine HALL on 15 Sep 1937 in , Cuyahoga, OH, USA. Notes: She went by the name of Josephine. Her marriage record says she was born in Alliance, Ohio instead. She was a waitress when they married. She had coal black hair and blue eyes. She had a very precise handwriting. She died around age 86 according to her daughter, Virginia. Hers was a hard life. Her father left when she was fairly young, but as the oldest, she basically became the mother to her younger siblings because of this event. She escaped a fire along with her sister-in-law, Melba Barr, in 1937 in the rooming home they lived in. She had the burden of Altzheimer's at the end of her life. In 1992, she is listed in the Cleveland Phone books with the following addresses: 25021 N Aurora Rd #324, Bedford Heights, Ohio 44146-1101 and 13816 Granger Rd, Cleveland, Ohio 44125-1001.

He was a lineman in his first daughter's birth record in 1908. He was a lineman (in the telegraph industry) earning a wage according to the 1920 census record. In the 1930 census, he and his wife were living alone. It gives their same age and states that he was a lineman by trade. In this census, his father is listed as being born in Scotland, not Canada as the 1920 census had. He was not working at the time. His wife was employed as a maid in a home. His daughter, Evelyn and son Robert and son Melba are living in the household next to them. He registered for the draft in World War I. He died from dissentary from the water after a great flood. His daughter Mary Josephine was a senior in high school at the time. William married Naomi KUHN. They were lawyers and professors. Her husband thought she was unfaithful and left her. She filed for divorce the week of 7/8/1922 according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. She sited gross neglect and extreme cruelty. Hart and Krooler were her attorneys. In the 1930 census her past husband is living with a wife named Goldie and had his children by his first marriage living with him. This devastated Naomi to a point that she never fully recovered. Their daughter Josephine helped raise the family.
