There are 3 volumes (Our Wm is in Vol III). It was written by Col Leslie who was about the 27th Baron of Balquhain, published in 1869, the year he died. | 8. | George LESLIE, First Baron of Balquhain was born before 1310 (son of Andrew de LESLIE and Maria ABERNETHY); died in 1351 in Balquhain, Aberdeen, Scotland; was buried in Churchyard of Logydurno, Balquhain, Scotland. Notes: In 1340, he received a royal grant for lands in Balquhain, Syde and Braco for his services in battle for Robert the Bruce and became the prognitor of the famous Leslie family in Scotland, Ireland, France, and Germany. He was given the title First Baron of Balquhain at that time. He had actually received the land in Balquhain from his father, but was given royal grant for it of higher rank in 1340. This was after Robert the Bruce had passed in 1329. Many of his descendants were named Sheriff-principal or chief magistrate in their home county of Aberdeen, titles only conferred upon the highest Barons and Earls at the time.
