3. | Sarah Jane COPPOCK was born in 1799 in South Carolina, United States of America (daughter of Benjamin J. COPPOCK, Sr. * and Susannah JAY); died on 17 Jun 1871 in Greene County, Ohio, United States of America; was buried in Xenia, Greene County, Ohio, United States of America. Notes: Her marriage to Robert Evans might be confused with the Sarah Coppock (b. 1801) who was the daughter of Joseph Coppock and Esther Patterson who also supposedly married a Robert Evans in the same time period.

6. | Benjamin J. COPPOCK, Sr. * was born on 30 Oct 1772 in , Cecil, MD, USA (son of Joseph COPPOCK and Jane WILSON); died on 3 Mar 1850 in , Miami, OH, USA; was buried about 4 Mar 1850 in Ludlow Falls, Miami, OH, USA. Notes: A Benjamin Coppock is listed as the head of household in the 1800 South Carolina Census, pg. 70 for Newberry District, South Carolina. Two males under age 10, 1 male between ages 26 and 45, 1 female between ages 16-26 and 1 slave are listed in this family. (C-219a, 299, 390k, 556) Benjamin Coppock and sons, Joseph and William were received on certificate from the Bush River Monthly Meeting, S. Carolina in the minutes of W. Branch Monthly Meeting, Ohio dated March 19, 1804. His wife Susannah and daughters, Jane and Elizabeth were added to these same minutes on the date of August 29, 1807. They settled 2 miles west of Ludlow Falls, Union Twp., Ohio where they raised a family of 10 children. (C-112, 1430) Benjamin married Susannah JAY on 25 Jun 1796 in Bush River M.M., Newberry, SC, USA. Susannah (daughter of William JAY, Jr. * and Margaret VOSS) was born on 19 Nov 1778 in , Newberry, SC, USA; died on 14 Jun 1859 in , Miami, OH, USA; was buried about 15 Jun 1859 in Ludlow Falls, Miami, OH, USA. 7. | Susannah JAY was born on 19 Nov 1778 in , Newberry, SC, USA (daughter of William JAY, Jr. * and Margaret VOSS); died on 14 Jun 1859 in , Miami, OH, USA; was buried about 15 Jun 1859 in Ludlow Falls, Miami, OH, USA. Notes: My Uncle has a 20 cM match on chromosome 13 with T572311 John Solon, both descendants of this Susannah Jay. Laurie Christine Rasch's application to the DAR gives Susannah's birth date as Nov. 19 1778. This Nov. 19, 1778 birth date is also in Charles Coppock's lineage in the Krell collection. It is listed elsewhere as Dec. 1778, 12/22/1778 (C-813, 864, 1430), 11/31/1778 (C-1460) or Nov. 20, 1778 (C-2109). The Nov. 19 date is based correctly upon her burial info which states that she was 80 years, 6 months and 25 days old when she died on Jun 14, 1859. The State of Ohio, Vital Records confirmed this as it stated that her birth date is Nov. 19, 1778 as recorded in a genealogy chart they prepared in 1962 for Horace Coppock as provided by Annie Natetelli Waloszek. She is listed 11th in her father's will. She joined the Quakers in South Carolina. (C-839, 2109) Her father, William, is also confirmed in Hinshaw when she married Benjamin Coppock.

12. | Joseph COPPOCK was born on 24 Feb 1742 in Little Britain M.M., Lancaster, PA, USA (son of John COPPOCK and Margaret COULSON); died on 1 Jan 1801. Notes: Joseph Coppock, son of John Coppock of Little Brittain Twp., Lancaster Co. PA married Jane Wilson, daughter of John Wilson of the Twp. of East Marlborough, Chester Co., PA according to their Quaker marriage record. The marriage record clearly stated that it took place on the 4th day, 5th month, 1769. Joseph left the East Nottingham MM, Chester Co., PA (also in Maryland) area on certificate dated Dec. 26, 1772 and was received in the Bush River MM, Newberry Co. area on April 30, 1774. Joseph married Jane WILSON in 4th da 5th mo 1769 in E. Nottingham M.M., , PA. Jane (daughter of John WILSON and Ruth COOKE) was born on 29 Sep 1751 in East Nottingham, Chester, Pennsylvania, United States; died on 10 Sep 1823 in Union M.M., Miami, OH, USA. 13. | Jane WILSON was born on 29 Sep 1751 in East Nottingham, Chester, Pennsylvania, United States (daughter of John WILSON and Ruth COOKE); died on 10 Sep 1823 in Union M.M., Miami, OH, USA. Notes: Jane's father is listed as John of East Nottingham in her marriage record. Her father's wife, Jane signs her name directly after Johns in the witness lists. (C-299, 1302) She is highly likely to be the Jane Coppock listed in the 1800 Newberry Census record. There was a female over 45 and between the ages of 16 and 26, with 2 males between 10-16 and one under ten. Her four youngest children fit the ages of this household. If it is her, her husband, Joseph died between the time he wrote his will in 1799 and summer of 1800 when the census was taken. She moved to Ohio in 1807 with sons William and Jesse. 14. | William JAY, Jr. * was born on 12 Sep 1745 in Winchester, Winchester City, Virginia, United States of America (son of William JAY, * and Mary Elizabeth VESTAL, *); died before 28 Feb 1797 in , Newberry, SC, USA; was buried in Newberry, Newberry County, South Carolina, United States of America. Notes: He and his elder siblings were not mentioned in his father's will. (C-168b) One of his wives is occasionally listed as Mary Cothran, but this is likely a mix-up with his brother Joseph who was married to a Mary Cothran/Cochran. William Jay served under Zachary Brooks as a private in the Penn. Regiment of artillery, Continental Line, during the Revolutionary War (C-170, 1328). This information is again verified in the DAR lineage Book, Vol. 128, p.92 (c1916). However, this later source differs in a few instances. It states that William Jay was born in 1746 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and died in 1812 in Newberry Co., South Carolina. This birth date and place could be correct but the death date does not fit with William's will administered 28th Feb. 1797 in Newberry Co., South Carolina. Vickie Leimback listed that William II was born in 1744 in Chester Co., Pennsylvania (C-611) William married Margaret VOSS est 1778 in , , SC, USA. Margaret (daughter of Joseph VOSS and Mary Susan DOVE) was born in 1755 in North Carolina, United States; died after 1 Aug 1797 in Newberry, Newberry, South Carolina, United States.
