This might apply: AUGUST, 1795. Andrew Ervin vs. William Curry and Frances, his wife.--Writ, 11th September, 1793. Francis and Christian Eccord vs. William Chambers and Anthony Mustoe. Writ, Spa. April, 1789. 1785 to 178_ plaintiffs had dealings with defendants as deputy sheriff. Francis was a Gennan and unacquainted with English language. The bill charges serious impositions on Francis by defendants and prays settlement of accounts, etc. Christian was son of Francis.

William married Frances IRWIN\ERWIN in 1753. Frances was born in 1734 in Virginia, United States; died in Mar 1808. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

The surname Curry means "marsh" or "boat" and first applied to Scotchman who lived in a place of that name in the Marsh at Midlothian, Scotland. (CL-391) The birthdates and birth order for his children literally are not consistent in the sources I've seen and could be completely wrong.

The following record from Chaukley probably applies to this William. 1748-49, March 10th--William Curry, 200, near John Young, Thos. Waterson, Naked Creek (c. g. e. p.). According to "Early Settlers of Virginia", this purchase belonged to this William Sr. who was married to Sarah Young. Chaukley's, Vol. 1 entry might also apply. He is the first common ancestor I have with kkstubbs38 who descends through Sir Robert and his daughter, Jane (Jenny) Curry appearing to be born about 1712. This cousin is a half cousin meaning that one of us does NOT descend through Lady Sarah but through a different wife instead.

I have a second cousin who descends through John Curry, b. 1730 instead who is a half cousin. This now suggests, Sir Robert William had 3 wives. We don't know which of his children belong to whom or his 3rd wife's name.

Sir married Sarah Young before 1732 in Antrim, Northern Ireland. Sarah was born in Bef. 1717; died in in of Naked Creek, Augusta, VA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Sally's son, Dr. Robert Curry, had two executors with the name of Young who were both likely of Naked Creek because that is where the only James Sr. and Andrew Young lived at the time and where she and her husband lived also. Dr. Robert Curry's will was written on Dec. 29, 1803. (CL-185)
