John was a shoemaker by trade. John was married twice but his second wife is unknown. He had at least one child by his first marriage who died young. (C-2272)

Notes:

Richard was raised by his grandfather after his father died in 1617. His residence in Mobberly Parish is still labeled Yarwood House on the map. He appeared in the local records when his travel expenses were noted in his position of looking after sequestered lands in various local towns of the parson of Mobberley in the 1650's as requested by the Parliament. His home was one of a few where Quaker meetings were held. He was buried in Mobberley on Jun 1? 1663. (C-2272)

Richard married Margaret WORTHINGTON on 12 Aug 1634 in Wilmslow, Cheshire, ENG. Margaret was born before 1620; died on 10 Mar 1669 in , Cheshire, ENG. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

Notes:

Margaret could be one of the following persons in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England: 1) The Margaret Worthington who was christened in Wilmslow, Cheshire, England on Aug. 8, 1601 who was the daughter of Henry (Henerie) Worthington of that same parish. If so, she was among the youngest of a large family. This is the county where she married and is the only Margaret whom I have been able to locate that is a near match to Richard Yarwood's wife. If this is her, she would have been up to 7 years older than her husband. AND 2) Margt. Worthington, daughter of John Worthington who was christened on 01 JAN 1612 in Wilmslow. This second by date and place would be a much more likely outcome. One of her children was also named John to help support this theory.

Richard married Sibell BOWER on 7 Aug 1598 in Knutsford, Cheshire, ENG. Sibell (daughter of Henrici POWIER) was born in 1585; died in 1640 in Mobberley, Cheshire, ENG. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

So far the only christening record I've found that might be a match to this Sibell is Sibella Bowier, Christened 13 JUL 1585 at Dilwyn, Hereford, England. She was the daughter of Henrici Bowier.

Richard was offered a knighthood about 1616 which he refused. He "held land of the crown (or rather of the Earl of Chester) on his death". His heir was his grandson, Richard, who had just turned 12 years of age the previous October. The elder Richard had taken guardianship of his granson, Richard when his son Richard die. In 1616, an agreement was written that the younger Richard would marry a Baskerville daughter at age 21 in return for money and property. This, however, never occurred for reasons unknown. It would have meant a social step up for the elder Richard and does indicate that he was moving up in the world. (C-2272) n
