3505 She was a member of the St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Meadville, Pennsylvania. According to the 1930 census records, she was born about 1907 but her obituary gives her birthdate as 1912. Her obituary is as follows from the Meadvillune Newspaper. If her birthdate was 1912, she would have only been 14 when she married. It is possible that she made herself appear older in the 1930 census or that that census date is the more accurate one instead.

MARENDO, Mary Florence (I9430)

3506 She was a passenger on the ship "Welcome" that came to Pennsylvania from Aug.-Oct. 1682. Her mother and uncle, Isaac, both died on board in the smallpox epidemic. She and her siblings came under the care of her mother's bother, G. Ingram53b, 1427) She was married shortly thereafter to George Thompson by a Swedish priest. George as well as the clergyman who performed the ceremony were taken to court for violating the laws of the Province (possibly because she was with child?). Thompson appeared in court on Feb. 14, 1682/3 and the charges were dismissed as no one came to accuse him. It appears that Thompson left Miriam, as she was in the town records on Nov. 6, 1684 as needing public assistance for herself and child (Ralph Thomson). In some sources it assumes he dies before she marries again. However, this George Thompson seems to be the same Thompson that was listed as a married man in church records in 1698. There is a descendant of a Joshua Thompson, b. 1696 in this area named Lew Chaplick that believes that Joshua is a son or grandson of George Thompson, possibly through Miriam Short. She next married William White of New Castle Co. He was a Wheelwright. He died in 1703 and left her widowed with three additional children.

Her last husband was Aaron Coppock. (C-1210) They had declared their intention to marry on 7/11 and 9/13/1704 in Concord MM. She probably is the Miriam Coppock who witnessed the marriages of John, her son, and Margaret Coulson Coppock in 1731; John Harris and Phebe Beeson, 1731, and William White, her grandson, and Sarah Pugh in 1743 in East and West Nottingham Monthly Meetings held in Cecil Co., Maryland, just over the border from Townships of this same name in Pennsylvania. (C-1302)

A supposed source by Cope entitled "Baily Family", states that this Short family's origin was in Garton, Surrey, (ENG). (C-1427)
SHORT, Miriam (I11829)

3507 She was a telephone operator in John Ross's store in the 1945 Middleltown Directory. She lived at 1510 Fairmount Ave. She was also listed in the 1947 directory living with Marilyn A. Dimmack, her daughter, but had disappeared by the 19ectory. (C-1902) There is a 1977 death record for Mildred R. Dimmack in California that I believe would account for this. UNKNOWN, Mildred R. (I7830)

3508 She was a twin. Her brother died at birth and she 2 months later. SIMS, Melissa Ann (I2132)

3509 She was a twin. Her name is either Witty or Hitty depending upond whether the difficult to read first letter of her name was a W or an H. It is the same first letter as her brothers. COATE, Witty (I2134)

3513 She was a widow who was the mother-in-law of a Janos Bogdan, and therefore the mother of his wife, Anna Vovcsik. They lived in house 55 of Neviczke in 1869. I'm not absolutely sure the s is an s in her name. It could be an r or a t. VEGESA, Juliana (I6668)

3522 She was baptized the same day as her siblings, Mary, John and Rebekka. She is listed in her father's will as Sarah Mooreland. (C-1685) COATES, Sarah (I7937)

3523 She was born about 1879 according to the 1920 and 1930 census records for Cleveland, Ohio. In the 1930 census, her parents are listed as French Canadians. When William of Orange, Chadderdon saved William of Orange's (b. 1650-1702) lifeing a hatchet in his own body that was being thrown at William of Orange. Famous people related to this line of Chatterton's are ancestor, Lady Georgiana Chatterton who was a playmate of Queen Victoria. She was also famous artist and author whose works' are still available. Thomas Chatterton invented the kind of writing that Shakespeare became famous for. Ruth Chatterton was a silent movie actress - this Jane Chatterton's 1st cousin.

There is a current Lord and Lady Chatterton in England that are cousins. Architect Frank Lloyd Wright, Emily Dickinson, President Pierce and President Ford are all distanct cousins.
CHATTERTON, Jane (I9522)

3524 She was born and married in Taderagee, Armaugh, IRL. REE, Ann (I12397)

3525 She was born between 499 and 502. (C-1346) QUEEN OF FRANKS, Ingonde (I13865)

3526 She was born between the Saluda and Broad Rivers in S.C. according to "Tennessee, The Volunteer State". It gives her birth date as Sep. 30, but the Englewood Independent gives her birth date as Sep. 20th of the same year. BOWERS, Eva (I15836)

3527 She was born in Ohio according to their 1850 census record and was only age 49 at the time. This does not match other birth date information for her, which means she was likely underestimating her age. Her place of birth is listed as Souolina in the 1860 Howard Co., Indiana census where she is living with her son Joseph. She is listed at age 63 in this record. Her son John gives her birthplace as South Carolina. If she was born in 1797, then her birth place is more likely to be South Carolina. She died of smallpox in Tipton Co., IN according to her daughter, "Hettie's" obituary. She is listed at age 66 years, 10 months, and 20 days on her cemetery stone with a death date of Apr. 6, 1864. COPPOCK, Elizabeth A. (I14882)

3528 She was born in South Carolina according to her son, John Coates 1880 census records. She is living on Dec. 2, 1850 when the census was taken in Greene Co., IL but is deceased by the 1860 census. I have seen her death date as 3/1849, bs obviously has to be wrong as she was on the census in December of that year as well as having another son in 1852. OWDEM, Elizabeth Martha (I14987)

3529 She was born near the Nasemond River in Virginia where her father owned land. Her father was a compratriot of her husband, Mareen Duval. BRASSEUR, Susannah (I5331)

3531 She was born on the 22d 7m 1712. Sarah received 60 lbs in her father's will. (2/9/1761) (C-2149) COPPOCK, Sarah (I15745)

3532 She was buried in the Baer Meeting House. (CL-526) DANNER, Elizabeth (I8738)

3533 She was buried literally in the same grave at the same time as her sister-in-law, Lydia, wife of her brother John. An account of this is from "A Walk in a Country Churchyard Autumn 1880" by Luke Smith Mote, Transcribed from the Originalrch 2000 by Bruce Barrington Abbott.

West Branch, Miami, Ohio, USA West Branch Cemetery: "We must refer again to the old part of these grounds north of his grave, where a few were buried long since. We omitted mentioning -- A little southwest of Henry Fout's grave is a double grave; two small stones, roughly dressed, with the initials S. D. and L. D. marks the burial place of Lydia Davis and Sarah Davis, who were buried in this grave at the same time. They were sisters-in-law. Lydia was the wife of John Davis and daughter of Henry Coate; Sarah was daughter of Abiather Davis, unmarried; both were in prime of life, scarcely 35 years of age; last named was much concerned for her eternal welfare, often calling on [?] to have mercy on her and save her soul -- whilst languishing on her dying couch. She had much to say to the family present, her brothers and sisters, pleading with them to close in with the Lord's proffered love and mercy whilst it was yet extended to them; warning them also, if they did not and change their manner of life, they would be all be eternally lost (go to hell, as she expressed it). Lydia left four sons and a daughter."
DAVIS, Sarah (I1634)

3534 She was christened in Jan. of 1635/6. COPPOCK, Anne (I1725)

3535 She was christened on either Jan. 7 or 12 in 1663/4 depending upon who interpreted very difficult hand writing of the original record. COATE, Elizabeth (I16850)

3536 She was considered "hoyte toye" or had an asristocratic heir to her. The family was proud of her heritage. BELTENPO (BETTENPO), Maria F. (I9493)

3537 She was crowned Queen of England on the day of her marriage. Through her influence, it was said that her husband restored the decrees of King Alfred the Great and laid the foundation for the Magna Charta during King John's reign. At her, she was "passionately lamented by all classes." (C-862) She was also known as Edith "Atheling". It was her birth name. She changed it to Matilda after she married. She was buried in Westminster Abbey next to her uncle, Edward the Confessor. (C-1795) QUEEN OF ENGLAND, (Edith) Matilda (I12462)

3538 She was employed at Bradford Electronics when she died. (D-191) DUDICK, Shirley Ann (I12433)

3539 She was from Lower Oxford, Chester Co., PA when she married in 1846 to Warwick Coates. In the record it states her parents names as well as his. DARLINGTON, Hannah (I14900)

3540 She was from Nowy Targ, Poland just south of Krakow on the map and near the Slovakia border in the Carpathian mountains. Her place of birth in their return trip to Poland in 1925 said she was born in Pinioskowice, (Poland). The closest've found by name in Poland is Pieniazkowice. It is a village in the "administrative district of Gmina Czarny Dunajec, within Nowy Targ County, Lesser Poland Voivodeship, in southern Poland, close to the border with Slovakia. It lies approximately 11 kilometres (7 mi) north-west of Nowy Targ and 61 km (38 mi) south of the regional capital Krak ZAJAC, Marja (I9664)

3541 She was given custody of her niece, Mary Pondder, in a court for Kent Island, Maryland in about 1706. Candee Varville found Ann Bright's will who married a Griffith and Price. It was under her name Ann Price when she passed. It named heren by these 2 marriages. She also names Wm Gilgore who would be her nephew in this will. Maybe she raised him after Cicely died in 1717. Ann was wealthy based on her will.

Ann had a daughter named Mary whose married name of Winchester was listed in Ann's will dated 1735. We therefore, do not currently know which of Ann's husbands she was a daughter of. Ann also bequeths money to Isaac Winchester her grandson and to Samuel Griffith, grandson who was not yet 15. The later was to receive the money when he turned 15. She named Mary Ann, d. of Samuel in her will. She gave Jacob Winchester and John Elliot 15 shillings each to buy mourning rings without stating the latter's relationshipAnn Evans Price was of considerable wealth when she wrote her will. She also included Elizabeth Woolahand in her will with no description of relationship. She also gives William Gilgore without a relationship listed, one small heifer. He was her likely nephew. She names "my five children" at the end of her will as Mary, John, Matthew, Benjamin (Griffith) and Andrew (Price). She doesn't name Samuel as one her children, but does in the body of the will. Therefore, it could suggest that Samuel was a child of Matthew Griffith (her past husband) by a previous wife.
BRIGHT, Ann (I10458)

3542 She was Henry VIII's 5th wife and died by beheading like many of his other wives after their marriage was but a year and a half old. OF ARAGON, Catherine (I5985)

3543 She was highly likely an extremely young bride. She was baptised on Aug. 6, 1669 and biologically she was highly likely not an infant at the time to be able to have her first son in 1681. WARD, Remember * Mayflower Descendant (I10352)

3544 She was just 18 when she married 40 year old David Miles Coats. She was left with 5 small children when he died after which she applied for a pension. She married about 11 years later to Thomas Black. The marriage didn't work and theyivorced and moved to Lawrence, Michigan. Her last husband was a good man and kind to her, but when he died, she was left in poverty, aged and nearly blind. She died while living with her son, Richard, in Monticello, Indiana. (C-2383) BROWN, Elizabeth (I7877)

3545 She was King Henry VIII's mistress while he was married to his first wife, Catherine of Aragon. When she became pregnant, King Henry broke from the Roman Catholic Church to divorce Catherine and marry Anne. Of course, she was the motheizabeth (future queen of England), instead of the mother of the son King Henry wanted. This and her previous indescretions at the mistress of Thomas Dereham, and Henry Mannock, her piano teacher caused her to be the first wife of Henry VIII to be beheaded. BOLEYN, Anne (I5991)

3546 She was known as "the Girl of the French Vineyards" and afterward "St. Clothilde". (C-333c) OF BURGUNDY, Clothilde (I12742)

3547 She was known as "The Lady of Mercia". She fortified the small town of Warwick against invasion in 914 A.D. In 1068, the first castle of Warwick was built there inside her fortifications. (C-326, 1387) OF MERCIA, Elthelflaed (I14200)

3548 She was known as Mamie Smyers as an adult. She was not living with her parents in the 1880 census when she supposedly was about 4 years of age when the census was taken. She is possibly the Mary J. Smyers living with her daughter, Isabeln's family in the 1930 census for Chicago, Cook Co, Illinois. Her age was 54 and her birthplace is given as Indiana. Her birthplace is what is not likely to match our Mary Jane Coate Smyers. COATE, Mary Jane (I12038)

3549 She was known as the Fair Maid of Kent. She was the granddaughter of King Edward I and his second wife. (C-330, 437, p. 583, E) Her will is as follows: "In the year of our Lord 1385, and of the reign of my dear son Richard, King of Engld France, the 9th; at my Castle of Walyngford, in the Diocese of Salisbury, the 7th of August, I Joan Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, Countess of Chester, and Lady Wake. My body to be buried in my chapel at Stanford, near the monument of our late lord and husband, the Earl of Kent. To my dear son the King, my new bed of red velvet, embroidered with ostrich feathers of silver, and heads of leopards of gold with boughs and leaves issuing out of their mouths. To my dear son Thomas Earl of Kent, my bed of red camak [sic.] paled with red and rays of gold. To my dear son John Holland, a bed of red camak. And I appoint the Venerable Father in Christ, my dear friend and cousin, Robert Bishop of London; William Bishop of Winchester; John Lord Cobham; William de Beauchamp, William de Nevill, Simon de Burlee, Lewis Clifford, Richard Atterbury, John Clanvow, Richard Stury, John Worthe, steward of my lands, and John le Vache, Knights; together with my dear chaplains, William de Fulburn and John de Yernemouth; and my loving esquires, William de Harpele, and William Norton, my executors. Witnessed by the Prior of Walyngforde and John James. Proved 9th December 1385." PLANTAGENET, Joan "The Fair" (I12806)

3550 She was likely buried at Hurstmonceux Church in Sussex, England. (C-2247) DUDLEY, Jane Or Joan (I1458)
