    • He was the first white settler about 1735 in the Peak area of what later became Bedford Co., Virginia in 1753. When his son Thomas was born it was known as Brunswick County. Lunenburg County was formed in 1746 from Bruswick County and then became Bedford Co. Virginia in 1753.
