  If Robert was born in 1765, he was not likely born in Lunenburg, VA as his parents had sold 400 acres of land in Lunenburg in 1764. His parents next show up in Rowan Co., NC records before finally settling in Guilford, NC. Robert was in the 1790 census for Guilford Co., NC. He had a son under age 16, he was over age 16 and there were 3 females in his household. He was living within 2 households of the James Calhoun with 3 males over age 16 and 2 females. This is probably his father by their ages. Robert Calhoun bought 100 acres of land from Andrew Mitchell on Dec 9, 1796. He sold 100 acres to John Smoot on Sept 2, 1811. They moved to Gallia County, OH and were in the Racoon township tax roles beginning in 1819. Wm Calhoun son of A and M d April 4, 1838 age 14 Greenlaw, Chilicothe First Presb. Gallia, Oh Mrs Eve Calhoon and Allison Hearn Nov 7 1852 and John Calhoun and Eliz Stewart jul 23, 1868.? (Candee Varvill) He and his wife are the ancestors of Candee Varvill.
