  This Samuel Coppock who married Lavina Coate was the son of Moses William and Martha Lester Coppock according to Charles P. Dye (b. 1855) who submitted his Coate Coppock lineage early in the 20th century to support the Coate Coppock land leourt case. Mendenhall in his book claims that Samuel is the son of Joseph and Jane Coppock. Since Samuel is listed in his father, Joseph Coppock's will, I have connected him into this family, though there could be a Samuel in each family of similar peerage confusing the issue.
