• Notes

  There is a second Roger Fort who was the son of Antony Fort who was baptized Sept. 19, 1587, in Shepton Beauchamp which is 3 miles from South Petherton. The Roger I connected here, had sons named William and James that were listed in their grandfather William's will of 1639. This Roger was a churchwarden from 1636-1637. (F-472) His listed marriages are the marriages that go with the named children. There is a possibility that the first couple of them belong to the Roger Forte who was born in 1587. However, because that Roger would have been in his late 30's before his first marriage and was from Shepton Beuachamp, it is more likely to connect as presented.
