  According to one researcher, Gregory Lindsay Simmons, the child of Simon and Hannah Jay is William Jay, b. Aug. 30, 1721 in Hingham, MA. He believes this William to be the William Jay who married Mary Vestal of whom so many American Jaysd. Because our William and Mary Vestal named no children Simon or Hannah and because Hingham, MA is not the correct locality, I am skeptical of this connection at this time. However, Mr. Simmons facts were correct for earlier generations, and this connection should be given serious research. (C-1341)
