    • Benjamin was a Revolutionary War patriot listed along with Capt. John Coate, Private William Coate, John Chandler, James Gallbreath and Elijah Teague. It is not known for certain who Capt. John and Private William Coate are, but could eae relatives of Benjamin Long's daughter's husband, Henry Coate. Benjamin and his wife, Priscilla sold land to his future son-in-law, Henry Coate on Feb. 10, 1800 in Newberry District, South Carolina.
