• Notes

  She moved to Green Co., Tenn. after her husband's death with their son, Samuel sometime around 1805. According to a descendant, Almedia Lappin, Abigail is a descendant of Jacobus Schelinx who moved to New Amsterdam in 1643. He marriedia Melyns. She was the daughter of a politician, Cornelis Melyn, who owned half of Stanton Island (NY, NY). Jacobus had Cornelius about 1658. Cornelius married Lydia called Abigail who lived to age 92 (d. 1748). They had son Abraham (b. 1710). Abraham married Jane Taylor and lived in Katemay Co., NJ. They were the supposed parents of Abigail, though no first hand proof has yet been found. (C-1258, 1303, 1305-1316)
