  Researcher Sharon Jebavy believes this to be the James who is the son of Robert and Agness Young. Some have stated that this James married Mary McComb in the 1760's and left a will in 1790. The James who left a will in 1790 had grandcn starting in 1763 ruling out this second theory. James was likely the named guardian when his father died in the following Chaukley records. Vol. III, Page 247.--21st May, 1762. James Young's bond (with Samuel Young, Joseph Hannet) as guardian (chosen) to Robt. Young, orphan of Robert Young...Page 367.--21st August, 1764. James Young's bond (Jno. Young, Jno. Young, Robt. Young, Jno. Kirkpatrick), as guardian (chosen) to Wm. and Hugh Young, orphans of Robt. Young, and (appointed) to Joseph Young, orphan of Robt. Young. The 150 acres land he received from his father in Beverley Manor, SC, in 1755, he sold to Mathias Gabert in 1769.
