  "Clermont’s text says that William married Alice William is probably the John William mentioned in the text as being the husband of Elizabeth in a will. By now William had estates in Wimstone, Holberton, Strechleigh, Forsan, Cokesland, Broke, Donstan, Tamerton, Smytheston, Wimpell, Thurveton, and Estecot, all thought to be in S. Devon. He also had the manor of Ryme in Dorset. In 1369 William Fortescue and Nicholas Fortescue granted rights to the manors of Orcheston, North Allington, some in Tenhed etc to a Sir John Prideaux.
