- Rev. John Craig, a Presbyterian circuit rider, baptized Robert Jr. In that minister's journal it noted that Robert Jr. was born with teeth! It also indicates that he was baptized soon after birth. (CL-468)
The following record from Chalkley indicates that Robert was taken into the care of James (probably his brother or possibly his uncle) when their father died. "Page 247.--21st May, 1762. James Young's bond (with Samuel Young, Joseph Hannet) as guardian (chosen) to Robt. Young, orphan of Robert Young. "
By 1768 in fee books, Robert Jr. had moved to South Carolina. In Nov. 1771, he sold his 105/150 acres that he had inherited from his father in 1755. He was listed as a Yeoman residing in SC at this sale. These are transactions listed in Chalkley. He and his wife, Rebekka, had multiple children and lived the rest of their days in South Carolina.
