  According to Evan's census records, he was born abt. 1795 or 1796. The 1841 census was taken mid June, meaning that he could have been born anywhere from mid June 1795-mid June 1796. Here are the baptismal records that could apply to him in Freereg.org.uk. Evan EVANS Baptism 19 Sep 1795 Cardiganshire Llanddewibrefi : St David : Parish Register son of Daniel View 19 Evan EVANS Baptism 04 Mar 1796 Cardiganshire Aberystwyth : St Michael : Parish Register son of Evan and Mary View 20 Evan EVANS Baptism 12 Sep 1796 Cardiganshire Llanbadarn Trefeglwys : St Padarn : Bishop's Transcript son of Thomas and Mary. In the 1851 census, he is listed at age 56. This census was taken on Mar. 30, 1851. These two facts together suggest he was born between mid June 1795 - Jan 1796 because of the following. In this time period, a study in England has said that 75% of children born then were baptized within 68 days of birth suggesting again that the last choice is not correct. In the first half of the 18th century, parents were getting their children baptized in a week. It had changed a great deal by the 1790's.
