Notes - He was supposedly killed by Indians at the same time as his father. (C-1304c,d) (C-2289) However, Bartholomew might account for one of the individuals living with his mother when she applied for 300 acres of land in Newberry/BerkeleyC in 1767. If so, his death date is after 1767. Land was granted by the number of members in one's family. Martha received 300 acres, accounting for herself at 100 acres, plus 50 acres for each additional member or 4 more members. That would probably include children, Bartholomew, Phebe, Martha and James. If Bartholomew was killed with his father, then Phebe was likely married at a young age and still living at home with her husband.
