  • Notes
    • John was listed as a prisoner for 24 hours in Lanchashier,1659, by Besse's "The Suffering of the Quakers," for which he paid 2s. He was fined 14 shillings for not taking the oath of loyalty to the King in 1664. He and his wife witnessed in the close relatives column the marriage of James Wright and Susannah Croudson in that Monthly Meeting on the 19d 4m 1666. I do not yet know if they were related to the bride or the groom, but it is likely that it is a grandchild to them considering their age at the time. One of their daughters would have to have had a first marriage to a Wright or a Croudson for this to be true. His will names wife Margaret, sons Samuel (to whom he gave his house), John of Great Sankei (Sankey is in co. Lancashire, England) and Thomas, and daughters Elinor, (wife of Robert Vernon), Mary (wife of Thomas Barnes) and Elizabeth (wife of Randle Speakman). It was written in 1699 in Mobberley, England.
