• Notes

  Rachel's husband was disowned from the Quaker Church on Feb 25, 1792 for marrying out of unity. They both moved to Miami Co., Ohio along with her sister, Mary. She and Mary's families are buried next to each other in Old Concord Cemetery. Her husband, Thomas W. Furnas, became an Ohio State Legislator. She could be the Rachel Coate buried in Union Cemetery just north of Ludlow Falls, Ohio who is listed as the wife of Wm. Furnas, age 73 years, 6 mo, 11 days who died on Mar. 16, 1847.
