Benton married to a Ruth in the 1850 Frederick Co., MD. He was age 58, she 56 and their children living at home still were: Phoebe, Thomas, Margaret, Joseph and Wornetter?(a female). They were all born in Maryland. William is possibly the William Benton who attended Mt. Lebanon Sunday School, a Methodist Congregation, in Montgomery Co., Maryland in their ledger for 1856-1859.
