  He and brother, Miles David moved together often from TN to OH to White Co., IN. He is likely the William Coate who was living near his brothers in Newton Twp., Miami Co., Oh in the 1835 tax lists. A letter written by his sister, Sarah, on Aug 31, 1867 states that her brother William lived in Stark Co., IN at the time and that she did not know how he was doing. (C-1624)
