  George worked at Case Cutlery in Bradford, PA when he met and married his first wife, Gladys Gilbert. They had one surviving daughter, Shirley Augustine. Two others were born dead and one daughter only lived 24 hours. They divorcede remarried Marion Hicks in 1948. After her death in 1960 he married Dorothy Gould also of Olean, N.Y. (1965). They were divorced in 1980. He lived in Olean, N.Y. for the last 46 years of his life. He was a retired auto mechanic and radio repairman, as well as a retired master sergeant in the National Guard. During World War II he served in the Army Air Corps. He was a member and president of the Civil Defense Auxillary Police and a member of VFW Post 1619 and the American Legion Post in Olean. He died Nov. 6, 1982 in Olean General Hospital. (D-74, 99)
