  The Pettus family was a wealthy and prestigious family in Europe. This is what made his daughters whose mother was an Indian maiden and grand-daughter of Pocahontas, a real catch for the wealthy land-owners founding Jamestown. They were raised as English woman and were half English, from this prestigious Pettus pedigree.
