  • Notes
    • There is a tradition in one Harp family that 3 brothers that took the oath of allegiance in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania One tdied crossing the Susquehanna River at Harrisburg, one went to Kentucky and the third was named John Harpe. He wn in 1715 and died in 1795 in Frederick Co., MD where he had lived most his life. He has descendants that later moved to Ohio, Indiana and Illinois. This tradition could apply to this John and his family by timing and numbers of brothers. However, it does not fit due to the fact that the other brothers died in Pennsylvania (C-2199) There is a John Harp that by age, could be this Harp. He was born in 1732 and lived in Braddock Heights, MD. He had a son named Boston who moved south as a young man. This Boston is believed to be the Boston Harp that died in Fayette Co., KY around 1814. (C-714)
