  He was age 82 in his burial record. He likely had a first wife as the marriage record I have for him indicates he did not marry until he was 31. He is currently theorized to be the son of Marmaduke and Elizabeth in his baptismal record on Apr. 4, 1738 in North Petherton, Somerset, England. The Big Y test is currently predicting him to have Marmaduke Coate, b. abt. 1552, as his first MRCA with my line. There is a 2nd John Coate b in 1738 who might be him instead. He is John Coate, baptised on Mar. 26, 1738 in Taunton, Somerset, England instead who is the son John and Ann Coate.
