She and her husband, Robert Armstrong, emigrated to Philadelphia in 1735 along with a 4 year old son. They moved into the interior of Pennsylvania and settled along the Susquhanah River along with other families they had traveled with including the Mcbrides, Cunninghams, Bounds and Calhouns.
