    Notes:

    Cutliffe Harman was a Revolutionary War Soldier. (C-205) He and his wife Susan were the first Harmans in Watauga Co., NC according to "A Family History of Watauga Co." They came from Rowan Co. (now located in Randolph Co.) in 1791 and bought 522 acres in Cove Creek from James Gwynn. His mother was thought to be a Wiley by elder descendents. He, wife Susan and children supposedly lived in a natural rock cave called Shupe's Rockhouse at the mouth of Phillips Branch until his house was built. Cutliff was employed by Daniel Boone to help transport goods and purchase Indian lands. (C-1845) Susan died several years before her husband who lived to the ripe age of 90. She, he and his second wife, Elizabeth are all buried in Cove Creek at the Cutliff Harmon homeplace. (C-695, 698)

    Cutliff married Susan PFOUTZ, (Fouts) before 1774. Susan (daughter of Michael FOUTS, Sr. and Catherine VARNER) was born in 1751 in , Rowan, NC; died on 18 Jul 1817 in Cove Creek, Watauga, NC. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    He and his brother's family left the Uwharrie River area of North Carolina in the late 1790s and moved to Shelby Co., Kentucky according to some sources I've seen. I've also seen him with a death date of 1794 instead of after 1800, and with a spouse named Maybella Davis instead.

    Mathias married Mary Magdalene FOUTS in 1775 in Uwharrie River, Rowan Co. (Now Randolph), NC. Mary (daughter of Michael FOUTS, Sr. and Catherine VARNER) was born in 1759; and died. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    There is a George Harmon who married a Mary Foss on Nov. 26, 1760 in the ARA Submitter Files #1 CD-ROM disk. There is a George Herman who was born Oct 20, 1752 in Germany and he married Margrate Sangle Sep 12, 1779 who died on Oct 4, 1834. He was in the Pennsylvania Line in the Revolutionary War and left pension application, R4616. Any of these could be this George Harmon instead. (C-394) George along with his brother Mathias moved to Shelby Co., KY in the later 1790's. Some of the these two Harmon families moved onward to Indiana. (C-2420)
