    Notes:

    Jane could be related to the line of Elwell's in the "Elwell Family in America." (C-194) There is a John Elwell who was born abt. 1717 in Salem Co., NJ and died there on Dec. 19, 1785 who time wise could be a brother. He was probably the son of a John or Will living in New Jersey at the time. There are three Hesekiah Elwells of parental age in Maine Co., York Co. and Hancock Co. of the Maine Colony as well as one Nathaniel Elwey in South Carolina. (C-233)

    Although I have several published books that say his 2nd wife was Jane Elwell, I have evidence from a series of land transactions in Philadelphia Co., PA from 1750 - 1764 that suggests that Jane's real name was Carter or that George was also married to a Jane Carter by 1751 instead.

    In any case, Jane was still living and witnessed her son James Hollingsworth's marriage to Sarah Wright in 1786 in the Bush River Quaker Meeting Records.

    Notes:

    James and children, Charity, Sarah and George, by his unknown first wife transferred to Bush River before 1786. He is in the 1790 census with these children, his second wife and two more children he had had with Sarah Wright. A James & family moved to Miami MM, OH and got a certificate from Bush River MM, SC on Aug. 8, 1805. He is listed in the 1810 and 1816 tax records for Miami Co., Ohio. According to Hinshaw, this would be the James that moved with his brother's Isaac, George and Nathan who moved to Ohio with descendants going to Indiana and Iowa. I had information that he was the James who died in SC in 1821, but this is probably confused with another James. (C-96, 457, p.92, 1025, 2034)

    Notes:

    This Henry is likely the Henry Hollingsworth in Duplin Co., NC records for 1783 and in Sampson Co., NC in 1784. In the 1820 census for Adams Twp., Darke Co., Ohio, Henry lists himself as over 45. There is a female under age 10, one from 10-16, one from 16-18, and one from 26-45. He was engaged in agriculture. (C-130) Henry and Sarah deeded 150 acres to Isaac, his probable son in Darke Co., Ohio on Aug. 24, 1823. (C-125) His estate was probated the next year in 1824 in Darke Co., Ohio, Ib2, p. 43, fbh.     This Isaac's info is listed in the Williard Heiss Indiana Quaker MM Volumn 3. According to Coppock researcher Joanne H., the the 1850 census states that Isaac and Jane did not have children until 1828 and Jane was only age 46 at the time. This is incorrect according to Williard Heiss info on Monthly Meeting info from Indiana... she would have been at least 48 and almost 49 years of age. Jane was Isaac's first wife. (C-1340)
