This is the will Of Isaiah Pemberton II Transcribed By G.D. Buckley and E.L. Pemberton, 14 June, 2001 from a photocopy provided by Mr. E.L. Pemberton at www.gbso.net/buc. "I Isaiah Pemberton of the District of Newberry and State of South Carolina being in a low state of health but of sound mind and memory do make this my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following. "To Wit First My desire is that all my just debts and funeral charges be justly and timely paid before any other division or division of my estate take place........ 2nd I leave unto My Beloved Wife Hesther Pemberton all my Estate both real and personal during her natural life. 3rd Item I Will and Bequeath unto my two sons Robert & John Pemberton a Plantation or Tract of land containing one hundred acres which I purchased of Jacob Airs lying and being in the county and state aforesaid to be Equally divided between them. 4th I Give and Bequeath unto my two sons Isaiah and George [T] all the tract of land or Plantation whereon I now live containing one hundred and fifty five acres more or less to be divided as followeth a line to line run begining at a Letewood stake formerly the corner between the tract and Van Davis running such a course to the Dividing line between me and Richard Pemberton as to leave twenty five acres most in lower end. Isaiah to have upper and George lower end. 5th I Give and Bequeath unto my two Daughters Mary and Elisebeth all my Household furniture after my Beloved wife's decease and all the remaining part of my property to be sold and Equally Divided amongst my six children. Lastly nominate and appoint my well Beloved wife Esther Pemberton my beloved son Robert and Brother in law Samuel Coate sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament Ratifying and Confirming this and no other to be my Last Will and Testament hereby revoking and disannuling all other and former Wills by me made or suffered to be made in Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal This day Eighteenth day of the first month in the year of our Lord Eighteen hundred one. Isaiah Pemberton (seal) Signed in the presence of us Samuel Miles William Galbreaith William Compton"; What interests me here is that some of the Gallbreaith's sold original land that once belonged to William Coate (possible uncle of Marmaduke) without ever having bought it from William Coate. I'm wondering if a Gallbreath married one of William Coate's possible daughters and inherited William Coate's land that way.

Isaiah married Esther COATE on 27 Sep 1785. Esther (daughter of Marmaduke COATE and Mary Jane COPPOCK) was born on 3 Sep 1766 in Bush River M.M., Newberry, SC, USA; died on 7 Nov 1810 in Waynesville, Warren, OH, USA; was buried in Ludlow Falls, Miami County, Ohio, United States of America. His death date in Hinshaw is in March, but in transcribed cemetery records his death date is the same day but in August of 1828 instead. Which is correct is not known. Robert Pemberton and wife, Unice were included in a deed of sale with all of Marmaduke's children and some of Marmaduke's grandchildren. Robert was a grandchild of Marmaduke through his mother, Esther, who was deceased.

Robert married Eunice COPPOCK on 2 Aug 1809. Eunice (daughter of John COPPOCK, Jr. and Anna JAY) was born on 1 Aug 1793 in Bush River M.M., Newberry, SC, USA; died on 10 Jun 1874 in , Parke, IN, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

His wife's name is Elizabeth Elleman in the Miami Valley Index. The orginal marriage record would need to be located to see if her name was Esther or Elizabeth. Perhaps Esther is a nickname for Elizabeth. She is listed as Elizabeth in the 1826 deed where he as Marmaduke's grandson along with other children of Esther Coate and all of the rest of Marmaduke's children sold land they had inherited from Marmaduke Coate to Moses Kelly.

Isaiah married Elizabeth (Esther) ELLEMAN on 15 Jan 1810 in , Miami, OH, USA. Elizabeth (daughter of John ELLEMAN and Susannah COPPOCK) was born on 23 Oct 1795; died on 30 May 1861; was buried in Union Joint Cemetery, Ludlow Falls, Newton Twp., Miami, OH. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

She and her husband, Abner Barrett are listed as sellers in the 1826 deed where the children of Marmaduke Coate and grandchildren through Marmaduke's daughter, Esther sell land they inherited to Moses Kelly.

Mary married Abner BARRETT on 23 Dec 1810 in , Miami, OH, USA. Abner died on 11 Apr 1859 in , Fulton, IN, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

He was not in the list of children who emigrated with their mother to the Waynesville Monthly Meeting in Ohio in 1806 nor in a deed that his siblings and Aunts and Uncles were in in 1826, so I'm assuming he died before the family moved to Ohio.

Elizabeth and her husband Nehemiah Thomas were listed as living in Montgomery Co., Ohio when they sold their portion of Marmaduke Coate's land along with her siblings and Aunts and Uncles in 1826.

Elizabeth married Nehemiah THOMAS on 18 Sep 1819 in , , OH, USA. Nehemiah died after 1826 in Of Montgomery, OH, USA. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]
