    My distinct impression is that Sarah had married sometime between 1816 when her father wrote his will and 1823 when his estate was settled as she is the only daughter who does not buy anything from the estate in her maiden name.

    Notes:

    John was Williams' first born son. He had the same name as a cousin born the day after him in Newberry, SC who was the son of Marmaduke and Mary Coate.

    John married Sarah UNKNOWN about 1820. Sarah was born about 1800; died on 16 Sep 1873 in , Laurens, SC. [Group Sheet] [Family Chart]

    Notes:

    From Newberry County by George Summers, lists Mary's husband as Joseph Hall. This is a mix-up on his part, as we know from James Coate's administration in 1807 that James's daughter Mary was most definitely married to Joseph Hall. (C-1912) Also, Mary is listed in her father's will in 1816 as Mary Taylor. (C-266) Mary and her husband and 2 of this brothers moved to Gwinnett Co., Georgia about 1838 and then to adjoining Forsyth Co., Georgia.

    Notes:

    William Jr. had 2 children by his wife, Elizabeth before he died and she remarried. Both of his children apparently died leaving wife, Elizabeth his only heir.

    The administration of his estate lists his widow Elizabeth, who made the greatest number of purchases at the estate sale on Oct 29, 1830. A Reuben Coate (brother) made a small number of purchases at his estate. Other persons making purchases at his estate, some of whom might be brother-in-laws, included F. Griffin, Samuel Caldwell, James Williams, Davis Williams, and William Satterwhite. Samuel Caldwell was his administrator. (C-1883)
